In 2003, Belgium became the second country in the world to legalize same-sex marriage, marking a significant milestone in its journey toward equality. This progressive stance underscores the nation’s dedication to recognizing and protecting the rights of all its citizens.

Pride in Brussels & Antwerp

Belgium is home to two major pride celebrations that highlight the country’s vibrant LGBTQIA+ community. In May, Belgian Pride transforms Brussels with a lively parade and festivities celebrating diversity. In August, Antwerp Pride brings colorful parades and events to the historic port city, showcasing its dynamic LGBTQIA+ community.
